Timing: 25 degrees or 24.5mm on the flywheel

125 E produced from April 1953 until February 1954. 42,352 units made.  Starting vin # 00,0001
125 F produced from March 1954 until April 1955. 32,701 units made. Starting vin # 43,000 (approx)

 

Model Identification:

125 E 

First Version until mid-1953

 

Tool box lid had no hooks, manual timing advance, legshield welded to the frame.

 

Second Version mid-1953 until the end of Production

Automatic timing advance, legshield attached to frame with screws, toolbox lid, front mudguard has additional bracket (the two last improvements were only on the very last ones made).

At the end of production a shorter exhaust was mounted with a left side exhaust tube.

125 F-F II

Very First Version 1954 derived from the E

 

This model in particular is practically an "E" model transformed into "F" using the same production. You can tell these ones by the "E" still stamped into the frame's vin number and is filled in at the bottom to change it to "F", the seat covers are still Brown.

 

First Version beginning 1954

Same seat frames of the "E" but the covers are Green (front seat has only one horizontal cylindrical spring)

Second Version early 1954 to early 1955

Seat frames are like those on the "D" (front seat has two vertical cylindrical springs).

Mark II 125 F 1955

 

"D"-type front fork.  Raised handlebars, external coil and condensor.

 

Paint (Lechler) and Paint Schemes:

125 E

All the same color Olive Green 8021 or Light Chamois 8055 exception for the seat frame, centerstand, wheels, wheel hubs and torsion bar under the exhaust are painted Fiat Aluminum 690.  The engine case and air filter box are also painted Fiat Aluminum 690.

The engine case is painted Fiat Aluminum 690.

125 F-F II

The super-early version that was derived from the "E" was painted exactly the same as an "E".

The first and second version F was painted all the same with Sand Beige 8029.

The Mark II F was painted all the same with Sand Beige 8029 or with Light Grey 8012
